Computer-aided design

assignment
  • model (raster, vector, 2D, 3D, render, animate, simulate, ...)
  • 1- Graphic Design (also 2D Design): It is the design that has only two dimensions, i.e. length and width, They are objects drawn on paper that have no tangible presence. 2-3D design is a design that has a physical presence (length, width, height) and is used to represent data and to design products.

Among the programs I will use for this week's duty: Autodesk Fusion 360, FreeCAD, blender to create 2D and 3D designs.

1-Autodesk Fusion 360 is an easy-to-use program that enables users to quickly explore product ideas and get a template faster. It also has a separate space where designs can be uploaded for completion later.

First, we use the Fusion 360 program to start designing the three-dimensional shape, this is the interface of the Fusion program

From the Create command, click on the sketch command to start designing,Then we draw a circle and inside the circle we draw a circle

We draw a circle and inside it a circle and then we choose the space between the two circles, and from the Create command we choose the extrude command, then we drag, then the shape that appears below is shown.

From a create command, we use the creat form command And then we draw a cylinder, and by clicking on any part of the cylinder on the right button of the circle we select edit form, then we adjust the shape

After completing the modification of the shape, we click on the finsh form, after finishing with the shape we define and then we press the indpect command and then the zebra analysis command to color the shape, from the create command we select the skitch command after selecting the part to draw on

After specifying the section on the cylinder, we create an extrude shape, making it look like the shape below

After watching several videos of the YouTube tutorial for Autodesk Fusion 360
After completing the design, we save the file as (f3d)

2-freecad is a general purpose 3D CAD modeling software, developed to be completely open source, is a general purpose parametric 3D computer-aided design (CAD) modeling application, made primarily to design real-life objects.

    This is a freecad interface

From the toolbar we click on the draft to draw a two-dimensional shape,We draw a circle with a rectangle inside it

Then we determine the dimensions of the two-dimensional object

after completing the drawing We define the body and we convert the two-dimensional shape to three-dimensional from the toolbar click on part and then choose extrude to show the shape that is below the image

After watching several videos of the YouTube tutorial for freecad
After finishing the drawing, we save the work as (FCStd)

3- Corel Draw is vector based designing software which is used for creating logos, flexes, brochures, invitation cards and any kind of vector designing based on the lining

After determining the size of the page on which to draw, we start drawing the thing that you want

This is the main interface for Corel Draw that we will start with the design

Through the toolbar we can draw the two-dimensional shape, we draw the rectangle and inside it a square and from the toolbar, I can add text to the shape

raster or bitmap image is composed of individual pixels which can be seen as squares of color when magnified and let you display subtle changes in tones and colors
To remove individual components of your bitmap, ungroup the image by going to Arrange > Ungroup or by hitting CTRL+U. You can now select, delete, and edit individual colors. Regroup your bitmap with CTRL+G when finished to move it more easily

After watching several videos of the YouTube tutorial for CorelDRAW
After finishing the drawing, we save the work as (cdr)

3-IllustratorThe Illustrator program can be considered one of the design programs produced by a company Adobe, a design program, used by all designers around the world without exception He possessed a very impressive advantage in the field of design, specifically designed for preparing designs, especially designs It is a type of graphics directed to the Motion Graphics business. The ability to make adjustments to pictures without compromising their quality, and this is what It enjoys the Illustrator program.

We will determine the size of the page that we will draw on

This is the Illustrator interface on which we will be drawing the two-dimensional shape

From the toolbar we will draw the square and a circle inside it and the edges of the square we will draw parallel rectangles in order to group other parts with it

After watching several videos of the YouTube tutorial for Illustrator
After finishing the drawing, we save the work as ( ai)
    Acomparison of vector and raster:
Most of the pictures you see on the Internet depend on the Raster style, such as photographs, they are composed of a large group of "Pixels" and the quality of the image depends on the number of pixels, the higher the number, the higher the image quality.
Unlike Raster images, Victor's images do not consist of points or pixels, but rather of lines that have a starting and ending points side by side, the path may be a line, a square, a triangle or a curved shape.
These paths may be used to create some simple graphics or complex graphs, and paths may also be used to define features of some shapes.
Some of the programs used to create Victor shapes include Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw, and Inkscape.
    Victor's Features:
Because Victor's images do not consist of a certain number of points, they can be enlarged to a large size without losing the image quality, and the design boundaries will remain clear and clear.
Victor technology is ideal for logo design, which may be too small to fit a business card, or too big to fit a large billboard.
First we import the Raster style image and then convert it to Victor style using Adobe Illustrator.

Then using the tool in the image below, we convert the image

The image is converted using the tool from Raster to Victor, as shown in the image below

I have explored the features of these two amazing CAD programs. A wide range of 3D modeling software is available, and FreeCAD and Fusion 360 are widely recognized as great tools for creating incredibly detailed designs for 3D printing.
FreeCAD is open source and thus will always be completely free, while Fusion 360 has free licenses for teachers and students only.
FreeCAD has a steeper learning curve, while Fusion 360 is relatively easy and intuitive to use.
FreeCAD is still in development, and Fusion 360 is a complete product.
FreeCAD is free to expand, while Fusion 360 plugins and plugins have an additional cost.
FreeCAD allows you to maintain control over your files, while Fusion 360 files are stored in the cloud.
Both are high-performance software that can be used for complex designs, and I will be using Fusion 360 instead of FreeCAD in the future due to the previously mentioned reasons.

Corel Draw and Illustrator are both such a great package, it doesn't really matter which program you create a beautiful piece of your artwork. The important thing is that you feel comfortable using it.
If I had to separate them, it would be like this: Corel Draw is more for graphic design and Illustrator for illustration things.
Generally they do the same things, they do it differently. Your job is to find out for yourself which one is best for you, for your needs.
But I have to say. When I first started learning Corel Draw, I was amazed by the things you can get done in such a short time.
If you use Illustrator with other Adobe products, the integration is much higher than using Corel Draw with other Adobe products. Copy and paste can easily navigate Adobe products.
Nothing can stop you from learning both, of course. But I think the wiser thing is to figure out which one is better now to learn it, and I have had more inclination to use Illustrator in the future.
